Nellie Nido
Associate Director of Purchasing
University of Central Florida
Nellie Nido is the Associate Director of Purchasing for the University of Central Florida (UCF); the largest university in the state and second largest in the nation. She oversees the acquisitions staff and the University’s small, women and minority business enterprise (SWMBE) program in support of the utilization of diverse vendors. In this capacity, Nido is responsible for supporting the acquisition of goods and services worth over $125 million for the university. In support of supplier diversity, she is responsible for developing relationships with local businesses to create an equitable purchasing environment by removing barriers to doing business with the university as well as an enhanced diverse business community outreach program.
Prior to working for UCF, Nido worked as the Director of Purchasing and Contracting for the School Board of Orange County. In this role she had oversight of the purchasing function for the 10th largest school district in the nation and the acquisition of goods and services which exceeded $300 million. While there, Nido led the department to multiple state and national recognitions for excellence in purchasing, including the Award for Excellence in Public Procurement by the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials and the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement by the National Procurement Institute, Inc.
Ms. Nido holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. She is an active member of the Central Florida Chapter of the National Institute of Government Purchasing and other industry organizations.

This group is NEW AND IMPROVED for 2015! Previously known as just Coffee Club, it is now Coffee Club EAST with a new meeting location at the UCF College of Nursing in Central Florida Research Park and still meets the first and third Thursdays of the month.
Along with the new name and location, the format has been revamped as well. Now there is a fun networking activity the first Thursday of the month and a guest speaker with some open networking the third Thursday of the month.
