DESCRIPTION:FLORIDA LEGISLATIVE MID-SESSION UPDATE\n\nEOCC Advocacy Advisory Council Welcomes \n\nCarolyn Johnson\, VP Government Affairs\, Florida Chamber of Commerce\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarolyn Johnson is the Vice President of Government Affairs with the Florida Chamber of Commerce. In this position\, Johnson advocates on behalf of helping Florida create a business climate that generates high-paying jobs\, vibrant communities and global competitiveness.\n\n\n\nCarolyn is the Florida Chamber's expert on lawsuit abuse reform\, workers' comp\, taxation and insurance. Recent legislative successes include addressing Florida's property insurance market\, eliminating prevailing wages at the local level and saving businesses over $500 million in tax relief. She previously served on the state Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and the State Advisory Board for the Florida Small Business Development Center Network.\n\n\n\nPrior to joining the Florida Chamber in 2013\, Carolyn was a District Administrator and Legislative Assistant for the Florida House of Representatives. She previously served as a Deputy Campaign Manager for a constitutional amendment campaign.\n\n\n\nCarolyn is a native Floridian\, hailing from St. Petersburg. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with undergraduate degrees in political science and advertising/public relations. She holds a master's degree in public administration and a graduate certificate in urban and regional planning.\n\n\n\nThis will be a Live ZOOM Event exclusively for East Orlando Chamber of Commerce Members.
