She is passionate about guiding innovative and data-driven changes to promote improved outcomes.\n\nPrior to joining Lake Nona Institute\, Jessica was North Carolina?s statewide Project Director for Reclaiming Futures\, a national evidence-based model to improve outcomes for juvenile justice-involved youth with mental health and/or substance abuse needs. In this role\, she provided strategic planning\, implementation\, and evaluation support through the first Reclaiming Futures State Office in the nation in order to increase the capacity of local cross-systems teams and integrate best practices into state policy.\n\nBefore joining the NC Department of Public Safety\, Jessica was the Research & Evaluation Director for the Down East Partnership for Children\, an early education non-profit where she directed the strategic planning\, evaluation\, program development\, grants management\, and community collaborative initiatives for the organization.\n\nJessica earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Elon University.\n\n\n\n\n\nMark Nathan\n\nFounder\, Inventor and CEO \n\nViolent Defense Technology\n\n\n\n\n\nMark Nathan is the founder\, inventor and CEO of Violet Defense Technology\, which has created and patented a revolutionary method to safely and effectively kill harmful germs.
