SUMMARY:Monthly Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:"Rene "Coach P" Plasencia was born and raised in Orlando\, the son of a Cuban born father and Puerto Rican mother. Rene graduated from Dr. Phillips High School where his strong work ethic and dedication earned him a track and field scholarship to UCF. While at UCF\, (Orlando\, FL) he started their first student athlete advisory board and served as president its first two years. Rene earned several athletic honors and still holds the indoor mile record. \n\nFor the last 14 years\, he has dedicated himself to teaching and coaching at Colonial High School. As a coach for the track and cross country programs\, he has created a culture of winning and success where there once was none. It is through his devotion and faith in his athletes that he was able to accomplish what no other coach in Colonial's 53 year history could. In 2011\, he led his boys Cross Country Team at Colonial High School to its first ever state title\, at the same time winning Colonial's first state title in any sport. In 2014\, Rene embarked on a new kind of race. He ran for the Florida House and did what many believed he could not do. He defeated a heavily funded incumbent democrat in a safe democrat district. Rene was elected to his first term with the Florida House of Representatives and in his first session sponsored 3 bills that would go on to be signed into law by Governor Scott. He was subsequently re-elected in 2016 to district 50 where he will continue working for our great constituents."\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Monthly Luncheon is a crowd favorite and we continue to focus on bringing you the Central Florida keynote speakers and topics you want to hear\, right here in East Orlando. No need to drive across town\, we're bringing them to you! Grow your business by connecting with influential business leaders from the community while enjoying a fantastic meal\, no rubber chicken\, cold broccoli\, or mashed potato igloos here!\n\nThe Monthly Luncheons consist of open networking for the first 30 minutes followed by an awe-inspiring\, earth-shattering\, knock-your-socks-off speaker and are held the third Wednesday of the month\, unless otherwise noted\, at Stoneybrook East Golf Club.\n\n \n\nMake sure to register no later than two days in advance to take advantage of your Member Discount!
