Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing and Event Coordinator to join our team. This role is involves for planning, executing, and overseeing marketing initiatives and events that enhance our brand visibility and engage our target audience, members and community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing, exceptional organizational skills, and a knack for creativity to serve the Chamber members and business community. This position reports directly to the Director of Events & Initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote events and brand initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for events, including venue selection, requests for agreements, contracts, & BEO’s, catering, transportation, and technology needs for approval by CEO as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create promotional materials, including flyers, social media content, and email campaigns.
  • Ensure that all events marketing campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess effectiveness and gather feedback for future improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and members to ensure successful event execution.
  • Monitor and report on marketing and event performance metrics.
  • Support day-to-day marketing activities, including social media management and content creation and bi-monthly e-newsletters, Friday Flyers, Business Matters, and T-Shirt Friday’s.
  • Works with Business Development Team & Members for Planning, Scheduling, Marketing Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
  • Coordinates and Runs Testimonial Tuesday’s Online Broadcast of Member Interviews.
  • Works with the staff and Ambassadors to coordinate and run Member Orientation Breakfasts.
  •  Coordinates and works with Trustco Bank and Business Development Associates with Merchant Monday’s.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience/internships in marketing, event planning, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with marketing software/tools (e.g., CRM systems, email marketing platforms).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible hours, due to Event schedules in early mornings and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and social media platforms.
  • Experience Working, Interning, or Volunteering with Chambers of Commerce, Non-Profit Organizations, or Volunteer Organizations.
  • Experience Planning Events
